Student Council Inauguration Ceremony 2026–27
With prayers, pinned badges, and an oath that echoed through the hall, the Institute of Aviation Studies formally welcomed its Student Council for the Academic Year 2026–27. Held on the morning of 31 July at the Aviation Campus, Hampankatta, the ceremony brought faculty, dignitaries, and a new set of student leaders together — ready to represent their peers with the same discipline expected of an aviation professional.
Order of Ceremony
A Ceremony Begins
The morning opened with a prayer, invoking blessings for a smooth and rewarding academic year ahead. Ms. Varshitha, Head of the Department of BBA Aviation Management, welcomed the gathering and set a warm, purposeful tone for what was to follow.
She was joined by Ms. Aishwarya, Head of the Department of BBA Aviation & Logistics Management, who spoke about the significance of the Student Council — reminding the students that leadership within the Institute is both a privilege and a responsibility.
Pinned with Pride
The heart of the morning was the badge distribution — the moment each newly elected member stepped forward to be formally inducted into the Student Council. Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, pinned the badges herself, one by one, as the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary were introduced, alongside the student coordinators leading the Institute's various forums and committees.
For every student on that stage, the badge was more than an accessory — it was recognition, worn the way flight crew wear their wings.
The Oath of Office
With right hands raised in unison, the newly elected council members took their oath of office, administered by Mr. Roshin K. Sibi, Student Welfare Officer. He reminded the students that the trust placed in them by their peers was not to be taken lightly, and extended his best wishes for a year of thoughtful, active leadership.
Leading with Purpose
Dr. Pavithra Kumari then addressed the gathering with her Presidential Remarks, encouraging the new council to lead with responsibility, integrity, and commitment — the same qualities the Institute instills in every student preparing for a career in aviation, where they are simply non-negotiable.
Gratitude & Grace
No ceremony comes together without the people working quietly behind it. Mrs. Sushmitha Das, Assistant Professor, proposed the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging everyone who had a hand in the morning's proceedings.
The event was compered with warmth and precision by Ms. Pratheeksha S. Shetty and Ms. Prithvi, both Assistant Professors at the Institute, who kept the ceremony flowing smoothly from one moment to the next.
Wheels Up for a New Year
The ceremony closed the way it began — together, with the National Anthem bringing the Institute together in one voice as the new Student Council formally took charge for the Academic Year 2026–27.
For the newly badged leaders on that stage, the real work starts now: representing their peers, carrying forward the Institute's culture of discipline and professionalism, and setting the tone for the year ahead.
