Srinivas University’s Institute of Aviation Studies Hosts Aircraft Model Making Competition for Budding Aviators | 2025

Mangaluru, November 3, 2025:

Srinivas University’s Institute of Aviation Studies pulled off an impressive Aircraft Model Making Competition for first-year students enrolled in the BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation & Logistics Management programs. The turnout was fantastic, with almost 300 students forming 30 teams to create and showcase some really innovative aircraft models that highlighted their creativity, teamwork, and technical skills.

The goal of the competition was to give students a better grasp of aircraft design concepts, promote hands-on learning, and spark some innovation in aviation education. The models on display covered all sorts of aspects related to aircraft structure, aerodynamics, and design efficiency, which fits right in with the institute’s mission to support practical learning.

The event was guided by Dr. Pavithra Kumari, the Dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, alongside Ms. Anjana T. V., the Head of the Department and Event Coordinator, with plenty of help from faculty and staff.

After an exciting showcase of talent and creativity, Mr. Vaisakh R. M. and his team from BBA Aviation & Logistics Management took home the first prize, while the second prize was shared between Mr. Brian William D’Souza’s team and Ms. Janani B. P.’s team, both also from the same program.

The competition wrapped up with a round of applause for all participants, recognizing their innovative approach and celebrating the winners for their outstanding efforts. It really highlighted the Institute’s dedication to fostering practical learning and aviation excellence among its students.
