Inauguration of New Gateway & Achievements Appreciation Ceremony

On the morning of 21 September 2026, the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, marked a new beginning at its Aviation Campus in Hampankatte — unveiling a striking new gateway and, in the same breath, honouring the outstanding achievements of its students at a joint Achievements Appreciation Ceremony. The morning was presided over by Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University and President of the A. Shama Rao Foundation, and graced by the Guests of Honour, Smt. A. Vijayalakshmi R. Rao and Prof. Er. Smt. A. Mitra S. Rao, both Trustee Members of the Board of Governors, Srinivas University.
A New Gateway Opens
The ceremony opened with a prayer and a warm welcome to the gathered dignitaries. Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, delivered the welcome address, describing the new gateway as more than a structure — a symbol of new opportunities, new aspirations, and the Institute’s continued growth. Dr. A. Srinivas Rao then inaugurated the gateway by cutting the ceremonial ribbon, marking an important milestone in the Institute’s journey toward greater excellence in aviation education and student development.
Before the celebrations continued, the ceremonial lamp was lit before a garlanded portrait of Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, Founder Chancellor of Srinivas University and Founder President of the A. Shama Rao Foundation (16 October 1937 – 17 February 2026) — a quiet tribute to the vision that continues to guide the institution he built.
Ceremonial lamp lighting and a floral welcome for the dignitaries rounded off the inauguration — a morning the Institute regards as an important milestone in its vision toward greater excellence in aviation education and student development.

Achievements Appreciation Ceremony
With the gateway open, attention turned to the achievers. The Achievements Appreciation Ceremony recognised outstanding student accomplishments across academics, culture and sport — from championship titles on the inter-collegiate stage to quiet service on the ground.
Students were encouraged to keep striving for excellence, and to carry their achievements forward into meaningful contributions — to the Institute, and to society at large.

A New Beginning
The programme drew to a close with a vote of thanks from Ms. Varshitha, who thanked the dignitaries, faculty members, students and everyone who helped bring the morning together. The National Anthem brought the ceremony to its end — a memorable close to a morning of new beginnings, gratitude and well-earned recognition.
