PARAMPARA 2026

Weaving India's Living Heritage

📅  18 August 2026 📍  Aviation Campus, Hampankatta, Mangaluru 🎭  Theme: Unity in Diversity

On 18 August 2026, the Aviation Campus of Srinivas University turned into a canvas of colour, rhythm and remembrance. The Institute of Aviation Studies hosted Traditional Day PARAMPARA 2026, celebrating the rich cultural heritage, traditions, art and diversity of India — pulling students out of blazers and into brocade for a day of prayer, performance and pride.

Opening Ritual

A Ritual to Begin

The programme commenced with a prayer and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, through the traditional inaugural ritual. Amid marigold garlands and the glow of the lamp, the ceremony set the tone for everything that followed — a day meant not just to be watched, but to be felt.

On The Dais

Gracing the Stage

Faculty, department coordinators, student volunteers and staff of the Institute took their places on a dais dressed in garlands and gold, lending PARAMPARA 2026 the weight and warmth of an occasion the whole campus had prepared for together.

VIVIDH  ·  Ramp Walk

Exploring the Forgotten Roots of Tradition

At the heart of the celebration was VIVIDH, an individual and group ramp walk that asked a simple question: what does India look like when it remembers itself? The answer arrived in silk, silver jewellery and heritage tailoring, as participants from BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation & Logistics Management walked the ramp in the traditional attire, customs and cultural heritage of regions across the country.

TAAL  ·  Dance Competition

Stories Told in Rhythm

If VIVIDH was about stance and stillness, TAAL was about motion. Dance-dramas inspired by India's epics and folk traditions took over the stage — dramatic lighting, bold costume and choreography that turned the Aviation Campus, for one evening, into an open-air amphitheatre.
