Srinivas University Institute of Aviation Studies Hosts Exciting 'Cooking Without Fire' Competition for Students | 2025

Mangaluru, July 4, 2025 – The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, successfully organized a vibrant Cooking Without Fire Competition on campus, offering students a unique platform to blend creativity with industry-relevant soft skills.

Encouraging Innovation and Hospitality Excellence

This innovative event aimed not just at promoting culinary creativity but also focused on enhancing key professional skills crucial in the aviation and hospitality industries—including teamwork, hygiene, presentation, and guest service.

A total of 16 dynamic teams participated from various aviation programs including:

  • BBA Aviation Management

  • BBA Aviation and Logistics Management

  • MBA Aviation Management

The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Pavithra Kumari (Dean), Ms. Anjana T.V (Head of Department), and Ms. Pratheeksha P Shetty (Cultural Forum Coordinator), with support from the dedicated faculty team.

Culinary Art Without Fire: A Skill Showcase

Using only natural and readily available ingredients, students presented an impressive array of dishes without the use of fire. But this was more than just a cooking contest—participants were required to serve their dishes to a panel of judges, replicating real-world guest service scenarios.

These components allowed students to demonstrate essential soft skills highly sought after in the aviation, tourism, and customer service sectors.
