The
Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized Aircraft Model
Making competition for the students of first year BBA (Aviation Management) and
BBA (Aviation and Logistics Management) in their campus at G.H.S Road,
Hampankatta on 20 Nov 2024. The event aimed to inspire creativity, teamwork,
and a deeper understanding of aviation principles among the participants. Students
enthusiastically participated, showcasing their innovative aircraft designs
crafted from various materials. The students worked in a team consisting of 10
members each. A total of 235 students
participated in the competition. The Model Making Competition was organized by
Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean Institute of Aviation Studies. Srinivas University.
The
competition encouraged the application of theoretical knowledge to practical
challenges, with participants incorporating key aspects of aerodynamics,
design, and functionality into their models. A panel of judges, comprising
faculty members evaluated the models based on various criteria such as design
innovation, creativity, presentation and so on. The event served as an
excellent platform for students to explore their passion for aviation and
develop problem-solving and collaborative skills.
The
winners of the of Aircraft Model Making competition was Kshithi and team, the
members of the team were Varsha, Merlyn, Saanvi, Martha, Gloriya, Laxmi,
Shilpa, Sushmitha and Hridhya from I year BBA (Aviation Management). The second
prize was bagged by Meghashree and team. The members in the team were Nayana,
Sinchana, Yashika, Sanjana, Nithya, H.N Swapna, Meghana, Nikitha, Prajutha from
I year BBA (Aviation Management) and the third prize was bagged by Akshay. S
and team members are Jeson. R, Fayazuddin, Devika V.P, Devika. P, Laya. P,
Krishnendu and Diya Babu from I year BBA (Aviation and Logistics Management).
Dr.
Pavithra Kumari, Dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, expressed his pride
in the student’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of such activities in
enhancing the academic experience. The event was successfully managed under
the guidance of Ms. Anjana T V, whose
support and direction played a pivotal role in ensuring its smooth execution. This
event highlights the Institute’s commitment to nurturing young talent and
fostering innovation in aviation education. The competition concluded with an
exhibition of the aircraft models, allowing students and faculty members to
appreciate the creativity and technical expertise demonstrated by the
participants.
