The Institute of Aviation Studies at Srinivas University recently concluded a comprehensive Three-Day Certificate Course for students enrolled in its BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation and Logistics Management programmes. Delivered in collaboration with the Magic Bus India Foundation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, and supported by IBM through the IBM SkillsBuild platform, the programme was designed to equip students with the technical knowledge and professional competencies demanded by today's aviation and service industries.

Programme Overview

The certificate course drew active participation from students across all three years of study. To maximise engagement and ensure an effective learning experience, the training was structured across four separate batches, held over 23–25 February 2026, and 3, 9–10 March 2026. This format allowed instructors to maintain manageable group sizes while ensuring every participant received meaningful, hands-on instruction.

Curriculum Highlights

The course curriculum was organised around two core modules, each addressing a distinct dimension of professional readiness in the aviation and service sectors.

Module 01
Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals

Introduced students to foundational AI concepts and its expanding role across modern industries, with focus on aviation operations, logistics, and customer-facing services.

Module 02
Customer Service Representative Training

Focused on communication strategies, customer handling techniques, and professional etiquette required in high-service aviation and service sector environments.

Pedagogical Approach and Outcomes

The programme was delivered through an interactive, participatory methodology, with sessions structured to encourage active student engagement rather than passive instruction. This approach enabled participants to develop practical insights alongside their theoretical understanding.

Upon successful completion of the course, each student received three certificates issued through the IBM SkillsBuild platform — a credential of recognised value that will strengthen both their academic profiles and their competitiveness in the professional job market.

Institutional Support and Acknowledgements

The programme was conducted under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, and Mr. Roshin K. Sibi, Head of Department. Ms. Maithri, Student Development Programme Coordinator, played a central role in the planning and execution of the initiative. The broader faculty and administrative staff of the Institute also contributed significantly, and their collective efforts were instrumental in ensuring the smooth and successful delivery of the event.
