Yoga Day 2026
A Morning of Breath, Balance & Focus
Why Yoga Day Matters
Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Flight
International Yoga Day, observed every June 21st, is a global celebration of an ancient practice that unifies body, breath, and mind. For aspiring aviation professionals, its relevance runs deep — from the focused breathing of a cockpit check to the composure a cabin crew member brings to every flight.
At the Institute of Aviation Studies, we believe that a well-trained aviator is not just technically proficient — they are mentally resilient and physically grounded. That philosophy brought over 165 students to their mats on 19th June 2026.

What Made the Morning Unforgettable
Expert Guidance from Decathlon
Ms. Sanvi Shetty, Executive at Decathlon Mangalore and a certified yoga coach, led three immersive sessions — covering postures, pranayama breathing exercises, and deep relaxation techniques that equipped students with tools for lifelong wellness.
Mind-Body Skills for the Cockpit
Sessions were carefully curated to enhance flexibility, concentration, and mental clarity — qualities as essential in an aircraft as on a yoga mat. Students from both BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation & Logistics Management programmes took part.
Faculty & Leadership Support
The programme was organized under the inspiring guidance of Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Dean of IAS, with wholehearted support from the SWO, Heads of Departments, NSS coordinators, faculty members, student coordinators, and dedicated volunteers.
A Community in Yellow
More than 165 students — in their iconic Srinivas University yellow — filled the hall with energy and intention. The collective practice became a reminder that health, community, and purpose are cornerstones of an aviation career well lived.

Yoga: Not Just for the Mat, but for the Skies
The International Yoga Day celebration at IAS was more than an event — it was an investment in the holistic wellbeing of every student who will one day step into the skies. We are grateful to Ms. Sanvi Shetty, Decathlon Mangalore, Dr. Pavithra Kumari, and every member of the IAS community who made it possible.
May every breath carry you higher. ✈️🧘
