On 7 March
2024 the students of Srinivas University Institute of Aviation Studies visited
Beggars Colony, Pachanady as a part of Social Responsibility. The
aim of the initiative was to foster a sense of social responsibility among
students while providing support to underprivileged individuals. By organizing
a fundraising campaign and distributing essential food items, the students
aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of the residents at Beggars
Colony.
Dr.
Pavithra Kumari, Dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University supported
and guided the students for taking up this initiative. The students along with
Ms. Anjana T.V, HOD, Institute of Aviation studies and the faculties visited
the Beggars Colony at Pachanady and donated them the essentials including
groceries, vegetables, and fruits. This initiative was taken by second year BBA
(Aviation Management) students Mr. Hayath Khan, Mr. Afnan Ahamed, Mr. Rohith
Ramesh Shetty, Mr. Sathwik. B. Poojary and Mr. Joyson S Crasta. The in-charge,
Mr. Ashok, provided a detailed explanation to the students about Beggar Colony,
the lives of its residents and also about the challenges they faced by them.
The visit
to Beggars Colony was a meaningful experience for the students of the Institute
of Aviation Studies, allowing them to actively contribute to society while
gaining a deeper understanding of the struggles faced by the underprivileged.
This initiative not only provided essential supplies to those in need but also
instilled a sense of empathy and social responsibility among the students.
